Where the cigarette lighter would be mounted on a 63 dash, please.

I want to install one on my suburban, not for cigarettes, but to power my phone. Cigarettes, the only vice I never picked up.

Goes to the right of the ignition. There is normally a small plastic delete plug in place if no lighter installed at the factory.

hey 1963c-10 do you have the complete pic of that line drawing? My truck has been on fire and the PO had already stripped the dash down. I dont know what controls go where other than the key and the lighter. Well NOW i know where the lighter goes lol

Yeah....somewhere I can dig it up. But from left to right you have Headlights, wiper, choke, throttle, ignition and cigarette lighter.

cool thanks, I feel really stupid having to ask that question but all i got to look are are empty holes in the dash. REALLY not looking forward to the complete re-wire that is in my future. BTW that is a great looking interior you have there

Thanks for the compliments. I'm not the biggest fan of electric work either, but I'd recommend American Autowire if you plan to purchase harness. They do a great job on labeling everything and the make it all plug and play. And don't worry about asking questions....big or small we've all been or will go through it building, maintaining and restoring these trucks.
