Orange 87 swb in the current issue of Truckin

In the current issue of Truckin magazine (volume 32, No 3 '06) there is coverage of the 2005 Scrapin The Coast show in Biloxi, Mississippi. There is a pic of a slammed orange 87. The tailgate handle has been shaved, yet the tailgate trim matches the original trim, but without the notch for the tailgate handle. Anybody know where to get this trim piece?

Never mind, I found it on Chevy Duty's web-site. Wish I could find a pic of the truck to post, because it's damn nice.

Yes the truck is very nice, just looked it up. I'd like to know how he got the front that low, either he Z'ed it or it has the crossmember mod...anyone know this guy????

Is this the truck? I'm to lazy to go find the Truckin but I'm pretty sure you are talking about Cory's truck.

Yep, they fit. That's what's on that truck.

One reason he left the mirrors is the paint is stock. While he did add a cowl hood, and shave the tailgate the rest of the paint is original. I talked with him at Texas Heatwave right before he bought the truck. He wanted a truck like mine that retained the stock look but was low. This was a low mileage all original truck when he located it.

Some of us like the Dumbo mirrors. My last truck (not a Chevy...) had a set of small "sport mirrors." I couldn't see a damned thing out of them, and swore I would never have them again.

I took off my sport mirrors and replaced them with the dumbo mirrors before I had my truck painted. I like them.

If it's the truck I'm thinking about I saw it when it was for sale...I believe it was pretty low at that time too, I mean tucking the tires a little. I think it had some cragar or centerline on it, it had 85,000 miles or so and was $6,500.....man I'd kill to have the pics of that when it was for sale

That's it! Thanks for the additional pics. Hard to believe that's the original paint. IMO...It's got to be one of the nicest/cleanest original paint trucks on the road. Thanks again for the picks.

Love That Truck. I See It Almost Every Month In One Mag Or Another. Always In The Show Coverage Section. This Guy Must Do The Show Circuit. Once Again Love The "mostly Stock" Look, Slammed To The Ground.
