What does this number mean? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I was pressure washing the old motor in my '49 and found a number n the drivers side of the block. The top line reads "GMC-5" and below it in big letters it reads " 6107326." Is this a casting number? Can this number tell me exactly what motor I have? Thanks for any help. Its a '49 GMC 100 if that helps.
