54 corvette suspension questions

I bought a '54 GMC pickup and have been following the s10 swaps and purchased a long bed but I then stumbled on a variety of corvette C4 and C5 suspension swaps which is what I want to do. I have decided to buy a wrecked C5 donor and use both the suspension and drive-line with the LS1 understanding that I will have to channel the bed to accommodate the rear end mounted transmission. I realize that this is way out there but I do have a full metal shop and am not intimidated by the fabrication time required.

My question is, do I box the original AD frame and add the C5 suspension components as the aftermarket suppliers suggest or would the S10 frame be sturdier? Any insights would be appreciated.
