Any tricks on headliner drooping?

My headliner is in nice shape except it is starting to droop on the drives side. is it possible to re-glue it somehow?

Re: Any tricks on headliner drooping?

Assuming your posting about the 87, it's easy to remove and replace the headliner with new material. Most fabric shops carry the material in various colors. Get a can of the 3M adhesive.....it's worked best for me. If you have the time and inclination one can easily customize the headliner with thin foam inserts...flames, Chevy emblem, military symbols and school mascots are what I've seen.

I dont know about reglueing it but, i think it was pepboys auto, sell some thumbtack things made for headliners that spin on and keep the material up. Just something that might help if you dont want to redo it!

just a thought...
mine was drooping, removed headliner from truck, took it down to upholstery shop, charged me $35 to remove old material and put some new on, looks great. I think I got my $ worth.

35$ is pretty good to get someone to do it for you.

I paid $5 for the material at So-Fro, and about $10 for the can of SUPER adhesive. Make sure you get the super industrial stuff.

Sure I would have paid someone another $20 to just do the whole thing for me. That's a great price.

Re: Any tricks on headliner drooping?

dont use 3m or any cheap elmers stuff its says right on the can not for use on headliners. so i decided to try it with both of those products and failed both times on really hot days. either buy some really good stuff or you can have your original one redone at a local upholstery shop for cheap
