Very nice car. What color are you thinking? Original shade? GM made so many nice colors in 1970 for the Chevelle it would be a tough choice for me.
My picks if I had it:
1.Fathom blue
2.Forest green
3.Cortez Silver
4.Shadow gray
5.Astro blue
6.Classic white
Red is also nice, but 3/4 of all the chevelles I see are red.
Was your car tough to find? Have you been looking for a chevelle for awhile?

Nice looking Chevelle, man! I had a '71 when I was younger.
Just my opinion, but I wouldn't make it an SS clone, it seems like they're everywhere. (clones I mean) Unless you change the dash, it's obvious that it's not an SS. I'd just keep the 'bu emblems on it.

I like to 70 model, too. Got a call last summer from a friend who told me about a 70 El Camino for sale. Went and looked at it, and bought it right away. Rust free (totally), new interior, needs a crate motor (dead cyl) and a complete AC/heat system installed. has cowl hood, too. Can't wait to get that one on the road. (Then I'll probably sell it!)

I am thinking cranberry red with black ss stripes? What do you guys think about vinyl tops? Being that the car came with two toned paint i have all the chrome trim for the top. Are they worth more w/vinyl or without? And all you beer drinkers who are close, come on by and check it out but don't come empty handed. (c**rs Light)

I was looking for a 69 and stumbled on to this one. I was pulling out of a local swap meet a week ago and i see this car pull in so being always on the lookout for a new project I turn around and follow it in and park next to him and ask (like i have a hundred other dinged up and beat up car owners) if it's for sale and to my shock he says "well i wasn't really gonna sell it but yea id sell it" I couldn't believe my ears someone had finally said yes! So I bought it.
