WTB: 32 spline NP203

Sorry, I didn't see a WTB section so here I am.

As the title implies, I'm looking for a 203 to make a doubler to go between an NV4500 and NP205.

If there's a better solution, I'm all ears...

Re: WTB: 32 spline NP203

32 spline would be behind the turbo 400. Was the 400/203 an available combo? Also, check Off Road Design's prices on the input shaft change price. It may be easier to buy that then to hunt for such a critter in the wild.

What/who's doubler do you plan to run?

Yep, I've noticed TH400 203s are rare.
I'm still undecided on which doubler.

That don't work go to the bottom right to forum jump. It's below the 99+ Chevy & GMC Parts Board.

Your wtb section... I have a 350 n 203 combo. How does the doubler work? Seems like more to go wrong?

Re: WTB: 32 spline NP203

franken, Where is "somewhere" for a location?
I have a 203 behind a 400, but it isn't going to be worth shipping a far distance price wise.

Re: WTB: 32 spline NP203

79betty http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/doubler.htm its kinda one and half t cases stuck together and gives you a ratio of 4 to 1 ratio,A stock np205 has a 2 to 1 ratio on it.The other option is a lomax np205 it has a 3 to 1 ratio http://www.jbconversions.com/index2.php?pc=3 its not cheap but its a really beefed up np205.

I have a 400/203 in my '78. It's not for sale. They were in trucks until '80. I see them on Craigslist up here pretty frequently

Re: WTB: 32 spline NP203

Check northwest fab. They make adapters that don't require a 32 spline

Spline count isn't required to run a doubler, it's the strength of the 32 spline combo that a guy is after if a doubler is needed/warrented in the first place. The last thing a guy wants in for the vehicle's fusible link to be buried in the heart of their drive train.

The major difference when choosing between a NWF or ORD adapter is whether the guy wants the 2 piece user clockable ability of the NWF or the simple and arguably stronger one piece design of the ORD.

Re: WTB: 32 spline NP203

The input gear is still avail new aftermarket. About 150 bucks. Direct swap with any 10 or 27 spline.

For what its worth, I love my 4500 203 205. I just redrilled rhe face to the round pattern. Ive got a ford 203 that has a round pattern already havent compared gm to ford clocking though.

Sorry for the late reply...

If you don't mind parting it, I'm interested in the range box on the front.
I'm in North Texas.

Yeah, just so you know....there is a WTB area. It is down the page near the bottom of the Classified section.
Unfortunately, I can't move this there, the format will not allow it.

Re: WTB: 32 spline NP203

Yes, I apologize for misposting. Somehow my addled brain didn't find the WTB section at that time.

I stopped searching for NP203 and just went w/ transfer case and found a few within a reasonable distance. Duh.

It's starting to look like the planetary doubler is about half the price of the NP203 route.

http://www.nc4x4.com/forum/index.php...vetrain.115450

770 ORD NP203 kit
100 NP203
150 32 spline NP203 input
150 Short 32 spline NP205 input

600 Planetary doubler kit
??? Doner TC for kit

??? Shifters
??? Crossmember(s) (actually I have a couple)
??? Driveshafts

32 spline NP203s aren't that common, so while the TC can be found for ~100 (typically 27 spline), the input costs double that.
Similarly, 32 spline short input NP205s aren't common (late SM465 I think), but 205s aren't tough to find (typically 10 spline). Again, the input shaft costs more than the TC.

Anyone have thoughts on the pros and cons of 203 vs planetary doublers? Yes, the planetary is more than a doubler, but for simplicities sake...
