Replacing spark plug wires
I am in need of replacing the plug wires on my '71 chevy truck. I am wondering what the best way to run my wires would be, over or under the headers? Does any one have pictures or advice that may help in my choice? Also, what is a good reasonable priced brand of wires? Thanks, Shawn

do you have headers, or exhaust manifolds? I have done many TAYLOR brand spark plug wire sets. I like them. I have a 72 Blazer, and a 69 SWB. Both have manifolds, and I ran the wires under the manifolds. Here is a pic

Thanks cparman, I have headers right now and my wires are routed like yours. I am having problems burning my wires on the header tubes and wondering if going over the top would be better. Also are the wires already made up or do you put the ends on?

get the little booties for the plug wires, might keep from buring them up.

I have headers on my truck & run the wires over the valve covers I used taylor wires with their wire looms check em out. under the headers looks the best but, not a lot of room to make this happen good luck & have fun ...Pat

I run
mine under the headers, it looks cleaner, and no wires in the way if you have to take the valve covers off. |

How did you secure the wires between the distributor and the manifolds ?They look nice and I would like to do my likewise . And Harshard I didnt mean to jack your post . |

I ran mine under my headers because I have center bolt valve covers and the wire holders look ugly IMO on that style valve cover. Big Al 71 has the nice looking ones that I would use if I had the other valve cover. The only bad part was that it took me a while to tuck them under the headers, I only did it because I had removed the inner fender for my heater core swap..
