Help!

I'm trying to get ready for a truck show and changed out my distributor from points to HEI. Problem is, I'm trying to figure out what wire to connect to for the factory tach on my 73 motorhome.

For one, I can't seem to figure out how to remove the cluster from the dash. It seems to be jammed in there at an impossible angle.

The old tach was not hooked up, so I have no idea how it works, the wire coming from the coil simply ended under the dash.

Can anyone tell me which wire to splice into on the back of the cluster?

Thanks,

Dan

Re: Help!

OK, this post is for future searchers who had the same luck getting answers I did... If you loosen up the slack in the speedo cable by pulling it tigh to the cab, you can get the instrument cluster out enough to unscrew it from the top.

The tach lead is brown and not connected to the main wire assembly. It is wrapped with a red wire which goes to the fuse block and a ground.

Thank you,

Good Day
