Handicap Access (for my old dog)

So I finally made the decision to lower my truck. I finalized my plans and ordered the parts. I got dropped spindles (2 1/2") and rear shocks from LMC. I went through Summit for their 4" Progressive Rate rear springs, all of which turned out to be from McGaughy's, interestingly enough.
I was a little nervous about tearing into the thirty plus year old front end, but over all it was not in too bad of shape. The old spindles came loose easier than I had anticipated, and the whole job was completed in two pretty easy days.
These are the before and after pics, the before shot is from last summer. The shadows kind of hide the reveal in the after photo.
The measuring tape revealed just a shade over 2" up front almost 5 1/4 out back.
I think its too level (almost nose high) now. Hmm

Re: Handicap Access (for my old dog)

This all took place last week-end. I've driven it for a week now and its just not I was looking for. My 2 1/2 / 4 drop turned out to be more like a 2 / 5 and I just wasn't happy. I knew I shoulda got those 1" springs for the front!
So today I drug out all the tools and tore the front-end apart, again, and cut a half a coil off the front springs.
Did I mention this truck had heavy duty springs and helper leafs for the back? It was riding at the same 'stock' measurements as listed in LMC's catalog.
These are before and after losing half a coil off the front springs.
Just what I wanted all along, and the dog can jump into the bed with no problems.
Its just gotta have a little rake to it, know what I mean?
