Nedd some I.D. help

I bough this nice column from another board member for my 67. He wasn't sure what year it came out of. The directional switch is date coded april of 67 but I'm not sure this wasn't changed at some point. I need to get the correct lower shaft to connect to my P/S box. I know there are some differences between 67-72 columns just not sure what? Thanks for the help. J.

Re: Nedd some I.D. help

I don't believe that tilt columns were available for the 67 trucks. Anyway the 69-72 extension shafts will work on that column. The 67-68 steering columns had a full length solid shaft in them.

Nice looking tilt column!

Jim

Re: Nedd some I.D. help

No tilt in 67-68, as Jim said the early columns were solid shafts. The collapsable shaft was added as a safety feature. For this column to work, you must have a intermediate shaft from a 69-72 truck.
