Drum/Backing plate Interference

I'm having an issue with the rear drums on a 69 gmc. I've installed the Moser 5 lug conversion axles and I have put on new 72 c10 drums (2" shoes). The drums are now contacting the backing plates. Has anyone run into this issue before? I'm considering just re drilling the old drums or potentially clearancing the backing plate.

Re: Drum/Backing plate Interference

Got it figured out. For whatever reason Chev decided to put some sort of sheet metal deflectors on the back side of the backing plate. this was rubbing on the outer lip of the drum. An air chisel made short work of it. no more grinding noise.
