What did you get done this weekend???

didnt see a thread so i thought id start one,

as for me i managed to get me a new stereo put in, actually its about 4 years old but has been sitting in a box on the shelf for about 2 years and now its in my truck sounding lovely and a hell of alot better than my old one

my old one had 2 speakers that look to be out of a chrysler based on the symbol on the back and the deck would barely play a cd and was very pick if it even played and skipped hitting sometimes the smallest bump in the road and all of that happened only if i turned it on since the face plate didnt make contact unless i pushed on it and had to push on it to do the volume or whatever else, and ontop of that while taking it out i found out that it was just sitting in the dash kinda hanging there and all the wires were tied together and taped and thats it, no connectors, no solder, no nothing just tape and they didnt even cut the dash right. all they did was cut it in a few spots and folded the peices down to open it up for the deck, but anyway i got the new stuff in and connected right and ive got a strap on the back of the deck holding it THAT was already there so i dont know why it wasnt hooked up, im glad that the retard that had my truck before doesnt have it now, and ofcourse heres some pictures for you all

Re: What did you get done this weekend???

finished stripping the cab. Got stumped trying to take the ignition switch out. Thankfully I have friends with cell phones that can quote off the top of their head: "put the key in the ignition and turn it to the left, STick a paper clip in the little hole, and then you can turn the key a little bit further- THEN you can unscrew the ignition switch plate". I never would have come up with that in a million years, but it worked like a charm.

Re: What did you get done this weekend???

replaced fuel pump and fuel lines. tried to clean out the garage, found too many unfinished projects. Drove to atlanta to look at a truck that turned out to be a p.o.s.

Re: What did you get done this weekend???

I got my rally wheels that I bought from HuggerCST on the board and started stripping the old paint and repainting them.

15X8 being stripped

15X8 Primed

15X8 finished

I used 3 coats of self-etching primer (sanded the 3rd with 320 grit), 3 coats of the dark gray Dupli-Color wheel paint and two coats of Dupli-Color clear wheel paint. I think they'll look pretty good after I add trim rings. I haven't decided which center caps to go with yet.

Re: What did you get done this weekend???

Installed new chrome alternator, new belts, new door seals, pressure washed engine, painted glove box door, removed door panels and knobs, dismantled instrument panel in preparation for a new chrome bezel coming this week. Then proceeded to close the instrument panel gauge lense inside the tailgate, creating a 14-piece lense. Now I'm online hunting for a replacement lense

Also went to a hot rod show and saw things I cannot afford...

Re: What did you get done this weekend???

Painted one of my new inner fender wells, painted some of the engine brackets and clean up a/c housing and a/c lines, cleaned up heater hoses, and took pics of my friends Blazer that he just got out of the shop getting a motor put in and paint work done so he can email him to his insurance company to insure the Blazer. I also gave him a steering column I had so he could replace his.
