suburban vs. dually - which is cooler?
yeah, well i wanted to do josh and the guys a favor and make that "never" text on the main forum page go away (btw guys, i'd recommend doing "update counters" in your admin panel), so i thought i'd post something.
i have a 1965 C-30 dually right now. it's pretty far gone. there is a '65 burb about 40 miles away for $800 and it seems to be a better starting point for a project. i want your opinion on what i should stick with. |

I'm a little biased on this poll because I own a 65 Suburban......I also have a 62.....they are much cooler than a dually.....That's a good price for a suburban... if you buy it and need parts contact me....

I'm partial to the dually but then again I have the dually with the stakebody dump. My frame and driveline are in excellent shape. My cab is my only problem. It sure is neat to get in the truck start it up and take it to dump from inside the truck. Just what I wanted when I was a kid. Still haven't grown up I guess.

i do love the dually, but it's reeeeally far gone, and i can't do a disc brake conversion, etc., for obvious reasons. and my mom won't let me have two "heaps of junk" in the back yard at the same time. so...
anyway, the main reason i'm considering the burb instead is 'cause the aluminum bed alone for the dually would cost about a grand :O and then, we're unable to find tubeless dually rims for a reasonable price, etc. |

One thing to consider is resale value. The Sub with a little work and updating will give you a decent return on your investment when you decide to sell and you probably will.
If the dually is as far gone as you say, it is at best a work truck. Cut your losses and step up to the Sub. Also, just thing about how many girls you could take cruisin'.

I'll take a shot of 'burban' even though mines a dually.
