found the 4x4 frame i wanted!!!
as some of you know i want to make my 66 a 4x4. i think i found me a 78 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 6" lift with no engine or tranny for $500!!!! so if i can get it ill have a frame for my truck. im happy!!! had a very good week!!!!!!

I have an 88 suburban frame I was going to get rid of. I woud love to put an older body on it, but don't know when I would have the time for that. Maybe i will keep it around a bit longer as I don't think I will have the 79 around much longer..

Congrats on your find. Why not go with a stock '64-'66 Chevy 4x4 frame & running gear? They are out there and many of them are sold as parts trucks, thus they have salvageable parts on them for resale, to get your initial investment back. That's the opinion of a purist. Tony |

well i would love to do that but i have yet to see a 60-66 4x4 around here. i have been looking but with no luck. ill keep looking though.

I check eBay, craigslist and deals on wheels on a regular basis. I see them frequently and have purchased four over the past year. They are out there. Good luck with your search. Tony |
