Re: Pic for STP67-72

Thanks Sacto Jim for quick response and nice pics. I like your truck. I just sold a 69 swb that was setup just like yours. Lower trim and 17x 8 torque thrust. I will try to post some pics. when i get a chance.
I forgot to ask about the combo on lowering.
Thanks for info. on truck. I am thinking about putting 18's on next project.

Re: Pic for STP67-72

here's a couple. I think I'm gonna drop the truck about another inch or so.

Second pic is before I dropped the rear another inch.

That's about how I want my truck to sit. How did you lower it and how much total?

Re: Pic for STP67-72

Thanks.

The drop is approx cuz I've had these components so long, I can't remember what it is exactly.

about 3.5" in the front with stepped lower A-arms and springs and about a 5.5" drop in the back.

I'd like to go an inch lower all around.

Re: Pic for STP67-72

Man
I will never hear the end of that little quote that i made at goodguys to Kieth. There will be more time under next truck and also the paint -body. The two N2 K's are never going to let me forget that one. Thats all right i enjoyed the weekend. I will watch and learn from them also.
Sacto
I was going to order some 17x9.5 and some 275's before i went to good guys but they were not going to be ready in time. 5.5 b/s is all they keep in stock. That is why i really like wheel combo. It just feels the wheel well up.
Nice truck.

Re: Pic for STP67-72

Thanks again all!

STP67-72 - If that's something you "threw" together, I'd love to the outcome of something you get a little more serious about.

Nice truck...bet you hated to see it go.

Yeah...I'm real happy with the combo and am glad I went 18's instead of 17's. The rear 55 series really fills up that wheel well and I wish I would've gone with a 55 instead of 50 series for the front and about another .25" of negative offset.

I'm hoping that dropping the truck a little more will help.

Yeah it was nice by all means, and Steve was just being humble about his work. Of course Keith and I took that little quote and ran with it. We will let him off the hook when he rolls his next one it since it's destined to be a "keeper".

You have the answer to your dilemma right there in bold print. Drop the front a touch more and call it perfect...

What Ken said....Steve is very humble about his work and he knows these trucks inside and out. Now about the "letting him off the hook" I don't think so!

SactoJim your truck in my eyes is about as close to perfect as your going to get...

Re: Pic for STP67-72

Thanks for comments guys.
Even though i have not heard the last from the two N2 buddies. Thats ok....Sacto iwas thinking about putting 255/55 and 275/55 -17s on my truck but ran out of time. But i think the 18's look better. This would be a choice unless i went with 18s and 20s. Thanks again for pics.and information on your truck. And yes it was a little harder to sell this one compared to the last 2 nice trucks i had. I wanted to put more than 212 miles on it but that is what i get for being to buzy. I had 10-11 months to drive it and didn't. But it was not my favorite year. I am building me a 72 swb super 402 truck for a keeper. And will do something a little more modified on a 68 swb with all the trim and probably air bags???
Later Steve
