"Coming home" build thread 1980
This is my 1980 silverado I got it when I was 12 in 1992 and it sat in a barn till I was 16. couldnt drive it just wash it and start it up once in a while. long story short My dad sold it in 1997 I never drove it too nice. sold to a friend My dad past away 10 years ago and I really have always wanted my first truck back. well finally my friend call and ask if I still wanted it, and got to get it back in Feb.2011.
It is in pretty bad shape, but Iam fixing it back up and is going great. this is it shortly after I got it home and put the ralley wheels and bfgs on it. |

I like those 2 colors 2-toned together. Good Lookin truck!
It's cool to have a story to a truck like that. My Dad has a 76 SWB he bought new in 76 & has had it ever since. I'm going to get ahold of it soon & then keep it forever. |

Great story and very cool truck! Glad you got it back A related story.... My 68 Camaro was bought new by my uncle, for his sons to drive. I got it in 1990, fixed it up and later sold it in 2001. I sold it to a friend who sold it back to me last year. Now, I'm going to have to sell it again, for us to buy a house....... This time, I may not ever see it again

Re: "Coming home" build thread 1980
Sounds like a great project. It looks great just the way it sits now. I always like 1980 trucks, unique grills and they all had NP205 transfercases! Nice truck buddy!

I'm sure your dad would have enjoyed ridding shot gun with you. I hope the restoration reminds you of happy days with your dad. Good luck with the project.
