Re: manifold repairs

With the extreme heat and rapid expansion that part takes I can't see it working. Bummer, but I'd start looking for a replacement.

Re: manifold repairs

jb weld won't last. stuff don't hold up to heat very well. sounds like the manifold needs to be replaced. even welding it with any other technique isn't guaranteed and is pricey.

Re: manifold repairs

I JB welded the heck out of one once and it held for a a couple of years! Its also currently on a blown out section of the emissions tube coming off the manifold on my 86 and doing just fine. Its been said it wont hold on gas tanks and I had a bad leaky gas tank corner, (67-72) SURPRISE, and I did a pretty thick coating on it and it lasted 7 years before letting go. Lucklily I had a few extra gas tanks in stock 7 years later.

Re: manifold repairs

72Freak must be the exception. I tried it on an exhaust manifold on my old 65 Mustang. It held for about a week. Watch the parts section. Those manifolds come up pretty often.
