The truck will be getting restored but until some parts are located I'm using the Ole gal like she was made to be used. This is going to be my restoration thread but thought I'd post this one first. What are your thoughts? Dump bed flatbed or longhorn bed restoration? She's a beast with a snowplow

Re: 67 napco c30

I like the idea of a Longhorn bed, but I may be a bit biased (just look at my name) That's a really cool truck, anyway you go is going to look good.

Don't see how you can go wrong with this cool truck. Even like the dump bed. If it was mine I would go flat bed...I think.

Re: 67 napco c30

ya have to ask yourself what you expect from it in the final outcome of the truck in the long run.
are ya gonna use it as a working truck.
are ya gonna restore it to be a show queen.
its definitly not a daily drive rig unless you have a very very short commute.

my opinion would be to only replace what it needs and preserve the rest.

it would be more funtional with a dump body on it though.

awesome truck i'm glad your here to share it with us.

I say dump bed, looks similar to the Galion body on my 1942 1.5 ton dump.

Re: 67 napco c30

I think the high stance would look good with a slick low or med.-side dump bed. Or a period utility bed. B-)

Re: 67 napco c30

Lots and lots and lots and lots of flat beds. Be different and go with the dump bed.

I'll vote for the dump box, lot of flat beds already.

If it was mine, I'd make it a wrecker, but that's me. It wasn't one of the options that you gave.

Such a badass truck. Personally i like the dump or flat bed because it has a nice factory look. No matter what, original Napco K-30's are very cool. Enjoy it!

Re: 67 napco c30

Been gathering up parts before tear down for the truck. I've ran into a snag and looking for suggestions. The tires/wheels on the truck are mismatched. The rear tires are 8.00x19.5 and the fronts are 8.00x18". Both heights are 33" the fronts are the old split rim type but the rears are not what I'm wondering is can I find a pair of 19.5 wheels for the front to match the rears or go with different wheels all around. All the tires need replaced so not a big deal if I need all different wheels/tires. I've called local yards and no luck so far any ideas? Thanks for any suggestions

The GM p-30 chassis step vans have 8 lug 19.5 wheels , you can buy them new , used eBay and Craigslist .

Re: 67 napco c30

Are you wanting to keep it origional with the wheel size? What about a 17" or 18" and run a more modern tire that more readily available? My vote would be for flatbed... Regardless, sweet truck!!
