Frame decision time
Well I finally got the Malibu clip installed on my long bed frame, now it is time to move on to shortening it. My question is do I set it up for standard 116 inches or add an inch to 117 so the wheel are centered in wheel openings. I have heard of even going to 117.75 inches.

I'd worry more about having the wheels exactly centered in the wheel openings in the fenders rather than the exact wheelbase when you are done. That is one of the things that a lot of guys miss the mark on with these trucks for one reason or another and it always shows up in the side view.

X2 on centering! If it was me, I'd figure out a way to have the bed mocked up properly on the frame and the rear end/wheels attached and cut and pull the frame pieces together until my eyeball said the wheel was centered. then fianlize the dimension so both sides are the same. That's the way I did my camaro front clip and even though it's a pain, it works! Also, since the rear suspension works on a radius, mock it up at ride height before you eyeball.

I would set the bed on the frame. That is if you have a short one available. If you are shortening the long one it may be a good idea to do that first.On the other hand if you are shortening a long one you could make the bed fit the wheel base.crap I am no help at all am I
