67 lwb w/ 292/3ott/OD and A/C
So... long story short, I recently connected with the owner of this truck by mere coincidence and somehow I ended up making a deal. There's likely a disease at play here, or maybe in this case something equivalent to feeling sorry for a neglected animal who needs a home, or maybe it's like a local c10 enthusiast that I know likes to say, "c10's are my cocaine". I'm surprised my wife didn't shoot me instantly, maybe it's because she just spent some money recently and went over budget so she has no room to talk.
It's pretty rough, dents and dings and bondo everywhere, and a bit of surface rust underneath. But it's mostly complete, has clean papers, and some pretty unusual options. Anyway, I wanted to share, and also ask you guys what you know about the options, particularly the 292 w/ 3 on the tree overdrive setup. I had never heard of that before. I think the A/C is rare with the I-6, hoping to find the rest of the brackets some place.

I think it would be a pretty uncommon truck with those options.
Another one saved.... Awesome!

Re: 67 lwb w/ 292/3ott/OD and A/C
It sure is uncommon. That is a quintessential '67. It's not just high option CSTs, Stepsides, and 4wds. That is such as great original example of "I want a Plain Jane blue on blue truck. I want the 292 with overdrive, heavy springs, and air conditioning. Nope, just manual steering and brakes, it's a truck!"

Re: 67 lwb w/ 292/3ott/OD and A/C
I love your truck with the 292 and the overdrive, the air is great also. At least you have the original compressor bracket, probably along with all the right pulleys. I think they may be easier to find than power steering would be.

The only 67-72 I've ever seen with a straight six that has a factory four core radiator and shroud (?!) Clutch drive fan too??

Sweet truck! I have a ‘68 292 w/AC I’m putting power steering on, can I please see a pic of the pulleys?

Re: 67 lwb w/ 292/3ott/OD and A/C
292 with A/C is rare. Usually the big L6 was in a work truck, no frills.
The empty bracket, passenger side - high on the block - forward, is for the A.I.R. smog pump. Fremont truck, like my '68.

Re: 67 lwb w/ 292/3ott/OD and A/C
Wow, what a combo. What are your plans for it? Not sure what the differences are in the AC systems between '67 and '70, but I removed my entire factory air from my '70 K10. Eventually I'll be looking to move it. Touch base if you're ever interested. Good luck with it and great find!

Re: 67 lwb w/ 292/3ott/OD and A/C
Never seen a 6 cylinder with all those options before, nice truck sir.
I had a 67 LWB 283 with over drive 3 on the tree. There was a handle on the dash that said over drive looked like the e brake on later model's. When it was pushed in the transmission would drop into over drive at speed if you let off the gas pedal for just a second and then back on the gas. If you pulled the dash handle out it locked the transmission into normal operation. I wished I had kept that transmission when I sold it.

Re: 67 lwb w/ 292/3ott/OD and A/C
Thanks everyone for the responses. I'll definitely get some pictures and part numbers of the engine accessories when I get it home and cleaned up (probably in March).
No plans for it just yet. I just want to make sure it gets another shot at life. I'm open to suggestions!!

Re: 67 lwb w/ 292/3ott/OD and A/C
That would be awesome restored back to original. Not many trucks with that combination of options produced and still having the spid makes the truck. It would probably be the only one restored like it.

Appears to be a regular fan. I'm not sure on the shrouds, maybe someone else can chime in. I think certain options with the I-6 had a shroud instead of the little finger guard, but I'm not positive.

Re: 67 lwb w/ 292/3ott/OD and A/C
I would expect a full shroud on a vehicle equipped with A/C. IIRC, they also used a clutch on the fan.

Re: 67 lwb w/ 292/3ott/OD and A/C
It got another shot at life, like I had hoped. It’s changed hands at least twice since this thread, got cut down, and became a driver. It was listed locally recently by someone (not me), I saved a pic from the ad...
