Hey guys, I was all but given a 1967 C20 Chevy Custom Camper. Everything is ther and the 327 engine seems to run strong. It needs so break work and body work, but over all its not in bad shape. The one thing I am really struggling with is the rear suspension. This truck uses training arms and they need replaced before I can drive it. Does anyone know where I can find some somewhat close to the Dayton Ohio area? All the ones I have found so far are in California.

Thanks for any advice and help, I'm sure I'll have more questions as I get into this old truck.

Thanks, and understood, Here is a couple pics, its not the prettiest thing on the road. I'm also having an issue of the engine not getting any fuel. I just put 5 gallons in the tank and there is a new pump installed. Thoughts. It cant be a complex system.

Once the rain stops in a few days I'll be able to spend more time with it.

Thanks, I don't think I did to bad, I have less than $250 investing in it so far. The camper is usable, just a little dirty. Biggest issues, needs trailing arms, brake cylinder needs rebuild and engine not getting fuel , as of today. Runs great if i pour gas in the carb.

LMC has trailing arms for about $269 a piece plus shipping. Thinking Craigslist in your area or a local parts yard is your best bet. I believe all the trailing arms from the Chevy trucks will fit regardless of year or length of the bed.
Next would be buying from the parts board from someone and eat the shipping.
Depending on how bad your arms are it is possible to split them apart and reinforce them. There are a few threads on that process.

Welcome Stout, thats a nice start, I'd love to rewind the history on it to see the family camping and traveling that was done. The stories it could tell. if it were mine I'd clean it up and freshen up the suspension, fix up the inside of the camper, and away I'd go, just like the prior owners did ....NEAT NEAT!!!!!

Welcome from Nor Cal. The fuel issue might be the float in the carb stuck up... lightly tap on the bowl with a screwdriver handle and see if it will fall.

Nice one Stout! Fuel problem sounds just like my 68 when I got it. Check the soft line under the cab and just before the fuel pump, mine were so bad that they glued themself shut from sitting.......if you are getting fuel to the pump check that the pump push rod didnt fall...... As far as trailing arms, just keep an eye out, someone local has em !

I visually checked those lines and they seemed ok, I have some fuel line laying around I may just replace them. I just put the fuel pump in, its possible I didnt get the push rod in right. Ill look into both of those. Thanks

How long did your truck sit before you got it? How fresh is the gas in the tank?

Hey TBone, thanks I'm already finding a ton of good info. It's been sitting since 1992, I think. The gas in the tank is new. One of the first things I did was to pull the tank and clean it out the best I could. I want to replace it eventually, but it'll work for now. I added 5 gallons last night.

When I got my 67, the fuel pickup line in the tank was completely plugged. When you cleaned the tank, did you pull out the sending unit and blow out the line? Mine also came with a optional filter mounted under the cab along the passanger's side frame rail. Might want to check that too.

I checked the line in the tank and was able to blow through it. I didn't see a filter under the cab, but I'll check again. I'm going to replace all the rubber fuel line.

Here are a couple more pics of the truck. I found the original tail gate in the camper, and was told it has never been on the truck. Its in amazing shape.

I'm also thinking of selling the camper, I'm not sure if there is much of a market for that sort of thing.
