Got another one done today!!!

Finally,
after spending the last two years driving, enjoying and working on my 71 GMC, I am happy to say it's done!!!

I actually am looking forward to the next project, even though my wife may kill me for even mentioning such a thing. That's what nights and weekends are for though, right?

anyways, here's a bunch of pics to kill some time...

Thanks for the cool comments!! It's so good to get some positive feedback after hearing the old lady rant about how long it's taking. But I didn't think I'd need to brace that crossmember, as there was a large V cut right there already, and I just notched it a little bit (about 2" max). Plus that used to hold the carrier bearing, which I ditched for a one piece driveshaft, so I hope it's going to be okay. Anybody else notched this to raise up the exhaust?

Dang, I hope my driving project turns out that nice when I call it rest time as I'm never done, LOL. Very nice truck and I really like the stance.

I'd say since you have leaf springs and no carrier bearing, you're fine.

Looks good!

Re: Got another one done today!!!

That's a beautiful truck! I can't belive the work that is going into these trucks nation wide! It could be just the angle from the picture, but are those u bolts on the rear axle going to interfere with anything?

Great work

Ahhhh, You may have found one of the tasks I never got around to doing... I meant to cut those bolts flush a long time ago, but they don't come near anything yet. But I may try to get to those this weekend. Thanks again for the nice words.

Re: Got another one done today!!!

Nice looking truck man!

BUT please take the time to paint the master cylinder and prop. valve. With everything being that clean under the hood it really sticks out! I have learned over the years, the better you make things look, the worse the bad stuff sticks out!
