How hard is it to put clearance lights in a cab with no factory clearance lights?
This is my first time asking question on here.
I have a 1985 K20 that i want to put cab lights on but i don't know how to get it between the roof and sub roof.

its not too bad... you have to fish wires... ive done it on mine... btw the cheapest set ive seen is at harbor freight they have a set there for like $10

I just installed a set on my project truck a few weeks ago. I ordered them from LMC. It's one of the few times I order from them, but the price was good and they're the exact identical lights my factory 94 dually came with. If I'm going to cut holes in my cab roof I want the finest lights I can buy for the project.

I did this thread on how to mount them securely without using sheetmetal screws.

And this thread shows how to fish the wires in two minutes or less. I video taped the method and youtube'd it to show the easiest way to get the wires from above down the pillar to the under dash area.

I actually ran two wires from the roof down under the dash. One is the power of course, the other is a ground wire to the under dash ground bus bar. Most issues with non working cab lights are from cheesy grounds so I went to the extra effort to make sure it is never a problem in the future.

And if you add 2 more wires to them you can have the outermost lights flash with your turnsignals like mine do.

Yeah I cut the ground leads to the outer 2 lights and ran leads to them from the turnsignal circuits under the dash. The main power lead for all the lights is still intact and I just reconnected the ground directly to the 3 center lights. With regular incandesant bulbs the lights flash whether your headlights are on or not. With L.E.D.'s only when the lights are on because the L.E.D.'s are not bi-directional power-wise like a standard bulb is.
