What did you get done 1/4/15 new years edition

I didn't get much done on the project truck but I got the plow truck fired up ( son FINALLY got the motor swapped in it for me , and now we found out that the transfer case wont work in two wheel high so we have it in four high and unlocked the hubs. One of these days when I feel like tearing it all apart I will swap out the transfer case. I also discovered that the left u joints in the front axel is kinda worn so I will send that out for repair as I don't want to handle that. On a good note. I fixed the bad socket so the brake lights both work now and also found the new controls for the plow so that should be on in time for the first snowfall of the season. I also filled the tank and got it on the road and she doesn't seem all that bad for a beat up old retired farm truck turned plow beater
How about you all??

Re: What did you get done 1/4/15 new years edition

I swapped my old beat up seat for one that looks reasonably nice. The old one isn't too horrible under the cover, anyone around here who wants it is welcome to it free but I'm not shipping. The new seat is from a Suburban so it doesn't tilt and I had to bend the rear mounts up a little but only a couple minutes to make it fit.

I need to dye the seatbelts black, the blue doesn't look so good on the black seat.

Swept out my bed, found and installed a matching mudflap, and scored 2 bug deflectors; one Deflecta shield, and a J-Mark. Installed the deflecta shield on my 82.

Decided to replace my distributor. Been having an issue with random stumbles and have a feeling my dist having what seems like a good amount of slop in the weights is playing a roll in it.

Re: What did you get done 1/4/15 new years edition

Replaced RH kingpin (everything), axle U-joint, wheel bearings on front, wheel seals all around, installed a lockout service kit from Milemarker, had the rotors turned, installed new pads. Re-installed the steering buffer shock (left over from the ORD 3 pc tie rod install), and did a 14bolt FF disc conversion as well. All on my 1986 GMC K3500 3+3.
very productive first few days of the year. Still more to go.
