1960 Questions

I did a search and didnt find an answer so here it is: To any 60-62 owners,

1) I now our frames a diferent , how hard is it to do an under bed gas tank?
I see kits for 63-up not for 60-62.

2) anyone swap there hydrulic clutch to a manual? what is needed?

Yes I know stupid questions, but hey ,I need to know ! Thanks

well i dont know bout the clutch. but i have my 62 frame stripped down. i could take some pics and take some measurements and post um so you will know exactly what size tank you need.

I put a 83 Blazer tank in my 62, had to make some mounting brackets and a filler neck, and it turned out pretty good...

Another thing to watchout for is if you have leaf or coil springs. I have a 65 and had to do a little mod to my aluminum tank. I replaced the crossmember in front of tank with channel iron and added one behind the tank to help prevent the Ford Pinto Flambe' syndrome.

Kid, I was thinking of getting rid of the hydraulic clutch becuse the master cylinder on the 60 controls both the clutch and brakes.
But I ordered a willwood clutch master today .

I believe the rear of the trucks are the same width and If I remeber right by the back cross brace is around 26 inches between the rails cause I planned on putting one in my 62 but got the 66 so I am doing the same thing with a fuel cell I will try to get the measurements tom for ya
