Z'ing the rear of my C10.
As soon as my C10 rcsb stepside is a runner again, and retuned. I am going to give it to my dad to drive as he is really having troubles getting in/out of his van.
So I want to Z the rear of the bed to give me more rear suspension travel, and was just debating on future expansion. When the truck is mine again. Meaning more low. I have a low profile truck box that fits between the rails nicely, and gives me a place to put my rifles when I go to the range. The box is 10" high, 14 inches wide, and 48 inches long. Only downside is i have to break down my shotgun when I go to the range. 30 inch barrel life. So I was looking back up my exhaust, and noticed. I don't have to raise the full floor of my bed. I could create a pocket that the box sets into, and raise the rest. So the box doesn't pop up close to the rails, but has a cleaner look in my mind. As it will still be at its current height, and the floor behind it raised up. So I can go the 4" I want, and move some stuff up in the frame better. Then I will have plenty of future expansion, and plenty of suspension travel still. I can't do a step notch because I hate them when I haul motors. They always seem to be in the wrong spot. So has anyone tried this? I spent some of my lunch hour looking, and found nothing like it. |
