I am curious as to what you 2wd guys consider you truck. I am constantly correcting people when they say its a "low rider". To me lowriders have 100 spoke rims tuck and roll interior chain steering wheels etc. Its not pro street, sport truck sounds stupid, what are they considered.

I tell people im building the truck for more of a musclecar build than a blingin street truck. Ive never had anybody call mine a lowrider though, I would be VERY offended.

Yep, those that don't understand label everything thats low as a 'low-rider'. I usually explain to them that low-riders are more of a cultural thing.

Mine isn't a sporttruck though. Sporttrucks bring visions of nimble, high speed cornering. My truck is a streetrod. It doesn't corner like a slotcar & I have to slow down for bumps, RR tracks, & potholes..... but it looks good doing it.

Friends and people who see the truck typically refer to mine as a hotrod truck or muscle truck...it has been called a lowrider a few times, but never a sport truck.

At the risk of being cyber shot - please know I'm just kidding here. Although I like my trucks better high than low, some of your rides certainly do look nice.

I think if I were to describe them, I'd call them Muscle Trucks, 'cause that's what most of them have under the hood - some good-ol' North-American muscle.

Under Construction is what I call mine but most don't know the difference in a lowrider and a sport truck.

I think it comes from an era when there was no such thing as a "Sport Truck", and the only "Low Riders" as we know them today were in the barios of California.

I remember in the late 70's and early 80's this was a common term for a lowered truck. It's just a dated term that's all.
I guess my 77 would be considered a "Resto-fied" or restored-modified. I call may 82 Blazer "Someday"...

My dad calls my truck a lowrider. It's not a term that offends me.

My dad has owned "lowriders", and I think that my dad would call any lowered car a "lowrider".
I'm sure he's not the only one that generally calls lowered cars Lowriders.

i have a chain steering wheel, and originally considered sum nice Daytons, but that has long since changed (maybe if i had hydros). Either way i know i would never be featured in Lowrider magazine. As far as i see, if it's lowered, be it car, truck, tank or tricycle, it's a lowrider. BUT i do see where the confusion comes from! Not saying i am right, i just hope to have my ride in Streetrucks or Sportruck sumday?!?! LOL
