Re: 3.54 gears in my Dana 60?
My`72 K2500 has them with a TH350.It moves out like a C/10 or car.I chirp second with 12.50/33s.They have enough grunt and like to roll out.I think they are in a sweet spot for a heavier vehicle.

They are the factory ratio with most of the big block trucks. I have them in my 68 with a 396

The swap is only going to give you a 14% difference.

Re: 3.54 gears in my Dana 60?
So do you think it would be a waste of money then? Because when I did the math (if I did it right) I should gain about 15+ mph bringing my 83 mph to 98mph in the 1/4

Re: 3.54 gears in my Dana 60?
I dunno. To put it real simple you will gain about a 1/2 turn of the wheels to one turn of the motor at all speeds. From a bit over 4 turns to a bit over 3 1/2.14% sounds right and that`s a good bit. It`s like having an 86% final drive, about 1/2 the gain from o/d @70%.

Re: 3.54 gears in my Dana 60?
I come up with 99 mph. How about a gear swap and a taller tire? What engine are you running?, trans?

Re: 3.54 gears in my Dana 60?
99 mph would be great! The tires I was running at the track are 31/10.50/16.5 bfg at's haha old skool and don't like them, im going to be putting some 285/60/16's on the rear and 255/50/16's on the front soon and I will probably be running slicks next season too. The motor is 383 stroker with all the goodys cam heads roller rockers headers intake carb etc. The trans is a TH350 stocky but its been rebuild and its going to get a shift kit soon. I just want to get my truck down to 14's all motor and hopfully 13's maybe a 12.9 with nos Im not trying to build a 10 second truck here
