question.... how much patina is too much ?

ive got a 68 suburban that has alot of surface rust (patina) on it but when is it too much ?
i want to leave the outside the way it is..i like the look with the 15x10 slots and it being lowered but what about the interior ?

ive got some on the dash an doors and am wondering if i should just leave it and put newer stuff around it (door panels, handels etc) or sand it down and repaint the whole inside and make it very comfy inside.

what are people doing or what are ur thoughts ?

any help guys before i start ordering parts......
