Best of show, first time out.
Rose was voted "Cruisers Top Choice" (best of show) in her first time out at the local monthly show. I was told this is a big deal as these are mostly car guys and this is the first time they voted a "truck" best of show. I could have handed out a lot of flyers or business cards for our site if I would have had any. Is there such a thing?
Check out the rainbow pic...very cool.

Re: Best of show, first time out.
Thanks everyone. This was also the first time Rose was out after dark and the first time she got wet.

Re: Best of show, first time out.
It does feel good. I remember those looong days in the shop when I thought I was going to drop dead of heat-stroke and those times when I said to myself "you have no idea what your doing".
I've said this before and I'll say it again, this forum made it much easier than it could have been....thanks.

Re: Best of show, first time out.
I think we have all had those days. The "you have no idea what your doing" usually comes for me after about half way thru the project on hand.

Re: Best of show, first time out.
I think I'll be alot more comfortable building the next one. I still get up in the middle of the night and go out to the shop to make sure she is ok.

Re: Best of show, first time out.
Way to Go, I love when i go to a show and the people with the bad ass cars, come by to look but they don't want everyone else see them looking at a truck makes me laugh, judges at shows are taking more and more notice of trucks these days

Re: Best of show, first time out.
Your truck is just the whole package......it just looks fresh....and I LOVE the color....You really did a fine job on her....and I like her name too!
If I did help you with a part, I'm glad I could help.

Re: Best of show, first time out.
Thanks, taking this weekend off. Next show will probably be the big one at 'The Villages'. Lots of units (again, mostly cars) in the 100K range. Lets see how Rose stacks up against the heavy hitters.
I'm thinking about making a story board so I don't have to repeat the same thing over and over again. I'm new to showing my truck (or anything else for that matter) so any advice you guys could give me would be a big help.

I don't agree with the burnout part anymore because most shows are in crowded and cluttered areas which makes it dangerous, and people complain which gets events closed. Anyway, I do like to show up "fashionably late" and leave out just a little before everyone else leaves, but that's me. The main thing is to keep a good attitude, try not to sound arrogant or boastful when getting compliments, and you don't have to wipe on it all day. Don't get hung up on going for trophies/awards or you will start getting upset. Just go to have fun and if you get an award, just look at it as icing on the cake. Take any criticism with a grain of salt, because it's usually just someone's opinion anyway. Something else I like to do is stand/sit away from my truck where I can still see people around it. I like to watch their reactions and try to hear what they have to say without them knowing it's my truck.
