what color wood did GM use
for the dash inserts on the trucks? It kinda looks like light teak in some pics I see but in others it looks dark teak. Mine is faded out bad enough I can't really go by it for reference. I have found some old stock and want to give it a try recovering mine. I should be able to digitize a pattern and cut it on the plotter ( I hope)
Thanks Richard

Re: what color wood did GM use
Sounds like a plan. I always figured it was black walnut, but don't know for sure. But,walnut is what a lot of real wood dashes were back in the '60s

Re: what color wood did GM use
Thanks Tim
I am going to order some samples and see what looks closest. I can get the walnut but it says it is for indoor only thats why I was leaning toward the teak. I will post up some pics of the samples when I get them in.
