Re: 2000 silverado fuel pressure

Key on, 2 second prime = 55-62 psi

Key off, 10 minute bleed off = 5 psi or less

You have a weak pump. Replace with GM only or you’ll be doing the repair again in a few months

Re: 2000 silverado fuel pressure

would this low pressure cause a miss fire?

Re: 2000 silverado fuel pressure

As said above 58-60 psi no matter what the rpm. It's an electric pump not like a small block mechanical fuel pump.
Low fuel pressure could very well cause a miss fire. Any codes via the check engine light?

Off with the bed or down with the tank. It's personal preference. I prefer lifting the bed off. If I had a lift I'd pull the tank down.

The Delphi pump is indeed the one to buy. Aftermarket pumps tend to fail shortly.

Re: 2000 silverado fuel pressure

Watch all 8 misfire counters and look for cylinders that seem worse than the others.

The cylinder(s) that is or are consistently slightly worse may have leaking injector(s)

Re: 2000 silverado fuel pressure

you could be right. my scanner won't do that. miss at idle after a warm up rev it up to 2k and it's smooth running. also won't hold pressure more than a few minutes. Need to have somebody to scope it for me.
