Something to share on Sunday

It's Sunday, 91 degrees, just finished cleaning her up for next week's antique truck show over in Fayetteville. She's almost completely transformed into a Deluxe truck. One of the last things I need is to finish is my restoration of the gauge cluster. I replaced the amp gauge with a volt gauge from an 80 Silverado, mounted the original face plate to it. Put in a vacuum gauge from a 65 Pontiac. Left its face alone as I am wanting something a little different. I remove the overspeed and tandem brake lens and have printed up GEN and OIL so that I'll have double protection. Won't be the first time this setup saved my neck! I removed the power brake pedal pad that I made and replaced it with the later style pad with a little twist of my own! Bet there aren't many of these out there! Slapped on a hood ornament from a 65 El Camino and a 6 cylinder badge from a Nova. Mark01 turned me on to a set of stainless steel rails for the bed! To quote my wife " It looks sporty!" Hope ya'll enjoy. Mike.

Yes it does! I'm an impulse buyer and I usually end up having too many parts and no place to put them. As you can see I really like the BLING!

Preaching to the choir, bought parts to build, fix, repair and reinvent the wheel , got more than a piece of every car truck I have owned in the last 40 years.... Dealer name tag is priceless, how did you cut that out? ..Ed

Hi Ed, I'm glad you like it. I separated all the letters I was going to use with a die grinder. It helped to have the thinnest cutting wheel possible. Have to be careful though because the cutting wheel on high rpm goes through pot medal like it was hot butter!

Your truck is incredibly beautiful, and even better with the additions. Nice job and creativity. Have fun at the show. I think the last time I saw one of those clear floor mats was in my dad's 62 Buick Special, back in 1964! Very cool indeed.

Hi Mark, thank you for complimenting my truck. I have to say a lot of my inspiration has come from the quality work you have preformed on your build. I'm still beating myself up over the tach issue but that's just something that I do! Best regards Mike.

Is your brake booster and master angled away from the air cleaner?
