Re: Impala disk brake brackets
I am very interested. Thanks for keeping me in the loop through all this. I would like a price on the steel ones with shipping to Apex NC, 27523. Any pics installed. Just wanting to make sure the pad contact is centered on the rotor. Thanks again.

Re: Impala disk brake brackets
Forgot to ask, how thick is the material you're using?

Re: Impala disk brake brackets
Does anyone have a parts list so I can figure out how much this would cost to do.

Re: Impala disk brake brackets
You will need calipers and rotors from a 94-96 Impala SS. Also the rear brake hoses for the same car. Then theres an adapter to adapt your trucks brake hard lines to the Impala brake hose. They are the same as the Caprice or Roadmaster rear discs. I made a template and drilled my rotors myself. They look great and have never had an issue with any of the ones I drilled myself. And lots cheaper than buying them drilled.

Re: Impala disk brake brackets
Sorry I should have clarified. I meant cross drilled the rotors. The rotors fit on the axle flange perfectly, no modifications were needed. Didn't mean to confuse anyone.

Re: Impala disk brake brackets
How much do you want for your brackets. Does 250 sound about right for the whole setup to you guys

Re: Impala disk brake brackets
It took ~20 minutes per rotor. I did all 4 on my drill press. Thay turned out perfect. The rotors cost me $15 each and the calipers were$25 each. I have a wholesale account though so that helps. I have more time than money so I wind up making alot of my own suff rather than buying it.

Re: Impala disk brake brackets
By the time I shipped it to you it would cost the same as buying it @ your local auto parts store.

Re: Impala disk brake brackets
im sure it will be less then 250 i havent got all the prices back yet the big down fall is most places want a core on the calipers and brackets napa the kit is $78 and the core is $82 wtf and i guess it depends on what rotors you want i might just sell the brackets and list the part #s for you guys for the rest of the pieces then you can get whatever you want

Re: Impala disk brake brackets
If I were you that'd be what I did. You should be too busy to do much else once you get them ready to market...

Re: Impala disk brake brackets
well you can get the axle out in about 5 min i just did it tonight to test fit the brackets you could cut the brackets to slide over the axle and cut off the old backing plates but its not really a big deal some brackets i have seen on here were cut out anyway i will be able to give you guys a price tomorrow night after i get my brackets and calipers i think i willl weld some nuts on on im going to make the hole in the center a little bigger mine wouldnt go on due to the powder coating on the rear end and i dont want to grind it off i dont think it needs to be tight there the four bolts will hold it where it needs to be im thinking around $40-$50 depending on how much i have to do after they are cut how does that sound

Re: Impala disk brake brackets
I would love to have a set of the brackets without a nut welded on the back. And you dont need to worry about opening the hole up further on mine either. I dont mind doing all that. I will gladly send you the money through PayPal as soon as you give me the word. Thanks again.
