1959 project

I am finally getting around to starting my build thread for my 1959 chevy LCF Viking, this started life out as a mobile home toter, I bought it from the original ouner and it has about 88500 miles showing, the wheel base was only 72 inches.
Currently I have made a set of new cab mounts and have set the cab on a 1997 freightliner chassis with a 5.9 Cummins 12 valve turbo diesel.

I have mounted an old York air condisioner compressor on the engine so that I can run rear air suspension, air horn and a air hose.

I am currently looking for a good frame section to add on the rear of the truck, I am trying to make a flatbed rollback out of the truck.

I will try to keep up with this thread as I go.

I like !!!
Always tossed around the idea of taking one of these big bad boys and putting a honking big pickup bed behind it like a cartoon-looking pickup. Kinda like Stacy David did with Sgt. Rock on the TV show Gearz.

Re: 1959 project

Does any one have what they call the best junkyard brake pedal assem. to use on a 55-59?
I am heading to the junkyard and could use some place to start.

Re: 1959 project

To help get you a few more hits on the brake setup question, you might post a thread in the 47-59 Message Board. Just hoping to make your trip to the JY worthwhile.
