Stainless Drip Rail?

Found a truck at the local salvage today, I took the windsheild trim from it but it also had the SS drip rail that looked to have came from the factory. It was in excellent shape, no dings, no bent spots. Guy would probably only charge 5 bucks for it all. Question: Is this an odd or seldome seen option? I know ive seen it in LMC but this is the first time ive seen it on a truck in a yard. It was riveted on, so i'll be returning next week with my drill to get it.
