1970 Cheyenne?
Did they make a 1970 Chevy "Cheyenne"? I'm kind of interested in the 1970 model year vehicles...I have a 70 RS/SS Camaro and would like to own 70 Z28, 70 Super Sport Chevelle, 70 Corvette. Anyway I was kind of under the impression that in 70 that there wasn't a Cheyenne. I was looking on E-Bay fruitlessly as always for my dream truck. I see one that claims to be a 70 Cheyenne. Even though I don't see any emblems indicating that it is. Whats the skinny on Cheyenne's in 70? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-...QQcmdZViewItem I know that everything is RARE on E-Bay and they always get stuff wrong on E-Bay. Anyway I don't know if they did or didn't so fill me in. Not interested in that truck, but there is ONE and ONLY ONE of those in town. It's blue a short bed obviously original and has all the parts that a Cheyenne would have, but not one. I believe it says custom 10 on the side. Something else is different to but from memory I can't nail it down.

Re: 1970 Cheyenne?
Nope Cheyenne did not come around until 1971, that truck is a CST model as it states in the description. I think he was using Cheyenne in the title for search purposes.

Re: 1970 Cheyenne?
The text says nothing refering to it as a Cheyenne.I think he just wanted it listed under "Cheyenne" since it`s an upscale truck and there`s no category for CST(it really is the same thing). It`s certainly not a plain ol` C/10.He also makes no claim that the 454 is original equipment, only has that in the title,as well. He`s got an honest deal going on there, nothing I`d crack on.

Re: 1970 Cheyenne?
You are right that in '70, the trim was CST (Custom Sport Truck) which was changed to Cheyenne in 71 and 72. I have a '71 Cheyenne, but the protecto plate (glove box decal) lists it as a "Custom Sport Truck".
When I bought it and got it home, I thought I had been taken not knowing that the "Custom Sport Truck" was externally badged as a Cheyenne in '71. The guy who restored it added the "Super" badge even though it's not a "Super Cheyenne". So in the end, a Cheyenne and CST are basically the same trim level.

Re: 1970 Cheyenne?
That's a pretty sharp truck, imo.

Re: 1970 Cheyenne?
The protecto plate was waranty stuff with a credit card type metal tag... the sticker in the glove box is the option sheet, or if you want to use GM lingo, it is the SPID label. (Special Product ID)

Re: 1970 Cheyenne?
And,I seem to be the only one that calls them VIN-spec sheets here. But,everyone knows what I mean.Old habits are hard to change and that`s what everyone I dealt with refered to them as years ago.
