Weld in notches complete, I hope

OK I finished my notches tonight everything went OK I thought. I did one at a time and supported the back end. I took a measurement of the back before I started. But when I was done I removed my support and the back end sunk a half an inch. Am I in trouble. I wasnt planning on boxing it in because its a 1/4" steel arch and I thought that would be strong enough. Do I need to?

Yes, box it! That notch does not support it in any way...

Is 1/8" plate steel enough for boxing or do I need 1/4"?

Use the same thickness as the frame itself as a minimum.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Yeah, you have to box it with that type of notch. That's why the bolt-in notches are so beefy. They have a plate that wraps the whole side of the frame for about 12".
