Front Drum brakes??
I just found out this morning my wheel cylinder is bad...Does anyone have a pic of the rivets i need to cut/grind to take the drum brakes off? I know there are several threads but could'nt find any pics of the rivets. Please help!

If you just want to look at the brakes, you don't need to cut off any rivets. Just pry off the grease cap in the center of the hub. Then remove the cotter pin and unscrew the nut. The hub and drum will pull off together.

No rivets. The wheel cylinder is bolted to the backing plate.

I just replaced my brothers wheel cylinder and it didn't have any rivets. Pretty easy to do, but just remember how you took it apart.

If indeed your cylinder has been leaking you'll need to replace the brake shoes too.
And you mights well replace the flex hose on that wheel too. And check the cylinder and shoes on the other side. |

The rivets hold the drum to the hub. The whole assembly can be removed by taking the wheel bearing nut off like the guys said above. If you don't want to mess with grease and bearings, you can grind off the rivets and remove just the drum. I had to remove the rivets on mine to get the wheels to seat flat against the drum. Someone might have taken the rivets out previously also. The rivet heads are in between the wheel studs. I think there are three of them. Hope this helps, Jeff.
