Question '88 4X4 question

I have a '88 k1500 and the front diff will not engage.
There is no power going to the actuator and I was wondering if there is a switch on the transfer case or somewhere else that is activated when shifted into 4X4 to then activate the acuator on the differential.
I checked the fuse as I beleive that the acutator is on the same fuse as the heater/ac in the fuse box.
I am completely confused on what it could be.
Help please!!!!!!!
Thanks

I had the same problem with my 88 K2500. I wired a switch from a 12v source, ran it down to the actuator and then ran a new ground. Shift into 4wd then flip the switch. It's easier than trying to trace all the factory wiring...
