Are all TF door bolts the same thread size?

Bought a set of used doors from a guy that I removed. The bolts seemed to have been original. When I tried to put them on my truck, the bolt threads were different. Does anyone know the thread size? I crossed a few trying to get them to work. Now what?

Re: Are all TF door bolts the same thread size?

My door hardware is buried. From memory I believe they are 3/8 (9/16 head) fine thread bolt. Over time someone may have "replaced" them with something different. When you find the right size try chasing the threads with a tap. If that does not work, you might need to redrill and tap one size larger. I am having a memory of having issues with a couple of my bolts when I was taking my doors apart and may be dealing with the same thing. If I get some time today I will dig out my bag of bolts and look to confirm the size.

They are not.

My '55 doors had coarse threads, ran into issues installing the fine threaded 59 doors on the 55 cab, trying to reuse bolts.

don't know when but at some point between 55-59 they went from coarse to fine. one of my threads will attest to that lol...

my replacement hinge pocket had coarse threaded nuts welded on... maybe just a 59 or 58-59 thing to have fine threaded hardware??

I have 3/8 fine thread on my doors and hinge pillars on my 57. I'm surprised that this would have changed.

Thats it, my truck is a 58 and these doors are 55 or 56. So its 3/8 bolt w/ coarse threads and 9/16 head. Guess i have to chase the 3 i screwed up. Lol
Thanks

On mine they are all 3/8x24 which is a fine thread. My truck has a 56 cab on it.
