Finally Dragged it HOME!!!

I posted earlier about a camper that i intended on buying three years ago but lost contact info. I happened upon it several weeks ago. Previous owner was deceased. Current owner tried to sell but lucky for me theres not a lot of traffic on a dead end gravel road. He had removed the engine and tranny in preperation to scrap the body. THe doors, cab, and front clip appear to be rust free. THe grill has a dent where the spare tire mounted. I bought it to restore my 68 stepper that has been sitting over 20 years or rebuild my 71 stepper. And to keep Thelma company in garage; however, i may end up scrapping or selling later bc it would be a shame to paint over the patina.I also was able to buy the drive train also.

A) Pics!

B) It sure would be a shame to break up an original camper. I'd be tempted to either save it and build it or sell it to somebody in order to buy the parts I wanted instead of scrapping it for parts. Just my opinion.

Re: Finally Dragged it HOME!!!

Lots of good parts there, I'd restore the 68 stepper too.

Re: Finally Dragged it HOME!!!

Dude! You possess an original numbers matching 1968 3/4ton camper special with PS, PB, AC, no rust, minor damage and an intact original-to-the-truck "full" camper unit to boot?

And you want to PART IT OUT?

My God, your steering wheel doesn't even have a crack in it!

Re: Finally Dragged it HOME!!!

Im going out of town for several weeks , hopefully by then the title will have arrived . I'll probly end up selling . I'd hate to tear it apart if someone really wanted one . I could find a regular truck to raid parts from .

I knew it was rare and had a lot of good parts , but not that rare. I'm glad I spent the extra cash for the motor n tranny . Owner claims the 50 k on the odometer is accurate .
