Inline 6 cylinder freeze plug part number
I'm working on my 72' 250 and have a late model 78' head going on and I pulled the freeze plugs out of the head during clean up. The water jacket port measures out at 15/16" diameter. However it seems that finding these things on the shelf or as part of a kit is not as readily available as I had thought. I referenced Dorman 555-016 which measures out as that 15/16" but I don't have any solid part numbers to work from to say yea or nea on what to order.
Thanks Paul

Re: Inline 6 cylinder freeze plug part number
If you know the sizes, just order from there. Most competent auto part stores should list a kit

Re: Inline 6 cylinder freeze plug part number
I hear you. Just making sure I have the right dimension and I'm not screwing up a minor detail that sucks to fix afterwards.

Re: Inline 6 cylinder freeze plug part number
Looks like you got the advice you need. One more bit of advice. Replace every freeze plug that you can, when you have it apart this far. In fact, if you see anything else amiss while you are in there, replace that too. Nothing like having to take it apart again!

Re: Inline 6 cylinder freeze plug part number
Thanks guys, I ordered a full kit from Summit Racing and it doesn't come with the cylinder head plugs... Opened the box and it was WTF moment.... Summit got a poor review today on the subject of what defines "a kit"..
