Metal fuel line replacement - 1984 K20 Chevy Suburban

How much of a P.I.T.A. is it to replace the hardlines on the frame of a 84 K 20 Chevy Suburban? I Currently have the tank dropped for replacing the sender and old fuel lines. I am only planning on replacing the rubber lines currently but am thinking about doing the hard lines at a later date.........

You'll either have to find a vendor that manufactures the lines and order up. OR make them yourself when the time comes using the existing as a template. Are they rusting out ?

No; not at this time, but I do need to really examine to see if there may be air leaking into the lines though as they are original to the truck. I am half tempted to switch the main and the return to the fuel pump to all rubber if the time comes.

The truck is originally a Texas truck. All the rust the truck has is only "surface" where the trim that "was" on the Suburban either fell off or was removed by the original owner. The only "cancer rust" is on the outer rocker panel for the back door driver side; I have the rocker to replace rusty rocker. I just need to get to a HS classmate's body shop; she has everything I need to replace it with. She's been in the industry (body work) for the last 30 years. The lines I am replacing are all the rubber lines and one of the vent lines for the filler neck, as I couldn't remove the clamps to remove the one hard line that went between the filler neck and the tank which is fine with me.

My Suburban in an '89, lived its life in NC and AL, lots of rain. I recently replaced all the rubber lines on mine and saw no reason to replace the metal lines. If you don't see active, deep pitting in the metal lines I would not bother. Not like they have ever been under high pressure.
