What do you guys think about the rain guards that bolt to the cab above the door, does anyone still make these? Or do you think it will not look right? all opinions accepted!

Are you talking about the guards that bolt to the door in the window opening? I have a set of stainless ones on my truck, I like the fact I keep the window rolled down partially even when its raining.

I think he is reffering to the factory drip rails like the ones on his truck in the pic.

I guess it depends on the look of the truck. On a stock or restored truck the look just fine and certainly perform a usefull function. With out them you will get more water in your cab.

On a smooth custom truck with a few body mods they tend to break the lines up. squint has a good compromise by having the black ones on a dark color. That gets the job done without standing out so much....

You hit the nail on the head N2TRUX, I think they will be put back on when I am done, the truck will be a blue, lighter side atleast of blue, so the next question is, who has a set they want to get rid of? or does LMC sell these?? thanks...all

Re: little torn !?!?!? rain guards

I had mine off my truck once for some reason, and it was right annoying. My door seals arn't that great anymore, and whenever it rained, it would dribble down onto my arm.

Re: little torn !?!?!? rain guards

When and why did GM stop putting these on the Trucks?

They are still there, just redesigned. Newer cars and trucks have them built into the roof now. Look on top of most newer vehicles, you will see a "channel" that run down each side of the vehicles roof...these are what us 73-87 owners refer to as drip rails.

Re: little torn !?!?!? rain guards

So that is what those channels are for. I thought (this might sound stupid) they were for some kind of roof rack option or something. Did not think about it all that much really. Now I know.
