our truck frames
How thick are our truck frames?...3/16 or thicker 3/4 and 1/2 ton's are the same.

not sure how thick they are. The 1/2 ton 3/4 ton and 1 ton are different frames. If im not mistaken the 3/4 ton are thicker with more braces on them than the 1/2 and the 1 ton is thicker than the 3/4 ton with a larger frame. Im sure somebody else will chime in and correct me if im not right on something.

I don't think it's anywhere near that thick....My '69 Truck Data Book said the side rails are .151 inches thick.

I read somewhere on here that 3/4 ton frames are .050 thicker than 1/2 ton's.

My longhorn(clean So-Cal frame), mikes out @.190(3/16). this is a 1ton frame, but I beleive the 3/4 frames are also in that same 3/16 range. crazyL

According to the 1969 "Truck Data Book" ; " C-10...Frame: 39,000-Lb.-test steel.Section modulus 2.98".
C-20.. Frame: "All models except Longhorn: Section modulus 3.71. Longhorn:Section modulus 5.05. Now if I just knew what a "section modulus" was.

1/2 1972 frame rails, checked 4 or 5 places. .155 to .158 Hope that helps.
