6 speed tremec

Who all has the tremec t-56 and who has the richmond 6 speed. I'm liking the single overdrive of the richmond versus the dual overdrive(5+6) of the tremec. That's just me, but if anyone has any thing to comment I'd like to hear about your experience with either vendor and what gears you are running and what tires and motor also. What kind of clutch does it take, and also are they mechanical speedo. Cruising speed and everything would be helpful. Sorry for being nosey but I need help for the old orchard 427 truck

Re: 6 speed tremec

I am running the Tremec T-56 with my 5.3 swap. It is of course the double overdrive. Because of the swap I ended up changing my rear gear to 4.11. It is a hydraulic Spec clutch rated for 700tq if I remember correctly. I have a turbo. Electric speedo. my tires are about 28.5 inches tall.

Custom 68- how hard is the slave cylinder to put in, what are your speeds and which high gear do you have. I believe there are two (.80 and.50 for sixth). What kind of crossmember you using also

Re: 6 speed tremec

it was not too bad to put in. My truck was "done" so to speak when I decided to do the swap o trying to align and get the hole and mount in the right place to get the right pedal throw was a little tricky but it is working great. Mine has 5th is roughly .73 and 6th is .5. the nice thing is that 5th matches what the overdrive was in the 4l60e it replaced. you have lots of choices on what gear you want it in.
It is fun to drive with it in. The truck has evolved over time. I was probably one of the first to do the gen3 swap in 2005 I have made several changes and learned alot along the way. It has served me well. It is not my daily driver but I do put alot of miles on it.
