Question Gmc To Chevy Tailgate ????????

ok i put my new to me chevy tailgate on my bed that used to have a GMC tailgate on it. are these tailgates different ? cause the new gate wont sit correctly. now it could be just from the bed sitting upside down on the horses and maybe being twisted but it looks pretty straight to the eye so are these gate different ?
thanks
lance

Re: Gmc To Chevy Tailgate ????????

is it a wood bed?
my old tailgate was hammerd on my 67 which tweaked the bed just a bit and the driversside bed side and bed floor need to be loosened and set back in place, in order for my new gate to set flat.
mines a wood floor, and i beleved that may have prevented damage to the bed side by shifting

They are very different. The Chevy ones say "C-H-E-V-R-O-L-E-T" on them and the GMCs say "G-M-C".It don`t have nuthin` to do with pea gravel needer.I know,I`m an ass, sorry.
