Low 77 Money Pit

Thought this would be a good time to start the 1977 C10 LWB build. First time ever doing this type of thing, so it may be slow and painful for you all to watch. Picked up this old truck from a friend after their divorce for 500.00. Runs great, body is not bad at all, with very little rust.

Step one: Drop front 3" and rear 5". Springs, hanger move, and shackels.

Step two: Swap 77 wheels for 80's rally's. Still need to be refinished.

Re: Low 77 Money Pit

LMC kit was great. Instructions were good, it did take about 10 clamps to hold it before welding.

Welded in the roll pan today. Just a little more body work to make it look nice.

Re: Low 77 Money Pit

Frog, See above. It was really easy with the LMC instructions.

The new skin goes right over the old. Just cut one big hole to relocate the handle.

Re: Low 77 Money Pit

Nope, just right over the top of the old one. Just use lots of clamps to fit it before welding. You can't really tell its not OEM, the lines all match up very very well (for 1977).

Re: Low 77 Money Pit

It's about a 1/8 inch more. I just moved the latch back 1/8th to make up for it. Looks about like the rest of the gaps.

Here it is at the muffler shop getting 2.25" true dual magnaflow exhaust installed.

Also had the wheels sand blasted and powdercoated black. BF Goodrich in 255/60-15's.

Re: Low 77 Money Pit

So I took some time this weekend to install a flip kit and spindles. But... as you can see its a bit to low in the rear.

So please PM if you have a stock rear shackle to sell. Or even better, send me your stock shakle, and I will send you a like new, few month old eibach drop shackle.
